The music ministry at Trinity Church exists to serve God by offering excellent music that is accessible, beautiful, varied, and suitable for worship. The pastors and staff are committed to selecting music that is theologically strong and substantial in content, written to best set the text, and to direct people’s hearts toward true worship. For this reason Trinity Church makes use of hymns more than gospel songs or contemporary choruses. We are dedicated to preserving and passing on the rich musical heritage of the historic orthodox Christian church. With that said, it is also our desire to present contemporary music that fits the criteria and standards for worship. We embrace the diverse musical tastes of the congregation and endeavour to present anthems that cover a wide range of musical styles.
Core Principals for Music in Worship
• Proclaim and rejoice in the glories of God.
• Preserve and pass on the musical heritage of the historic orthodox Christian church by the use of hymns in worship.
• Select and produce music that stirs and directs the hearts of worshipers toward God, which heightens and deepens the act of worship, involving all our senses, with all our being.
• Seek, select, and produce music that is textually God-centered, rather than man-centered, theologically strong, and substantial in content, though beautifully expressed in poetic language that ‘gets at the heart, and engages the imagination’.
• Select well composed music of the highest quality that is accessible, richly varied, and in a range of styles.
• Serve with grateful hearts and sincere devotion.
• Make the most of the talents and gifts, and instruments that God has given us.
• Encourage all members to use their musical gifts. Rejoice in the body of Christ!
• Strive for and uphold the highest standards of musical excellence and competency, without compromise.
Children’s Choir
Denise Seymour, Director
Children’s choir members receive instruction in the fundamentals of vocal production and choral skills, as well as training in basic notation, listening skills, and a variety of musical concepts. There is a great emphasis placed on the purpose and importance of music in worship, and less emphasis on performance. Choristers participate in the worship service several times during the season (September-June).
Junior Choir (Grade 3-8) meets every Sunday evening from 5:30pm-6:15 pm.
Primary Choir (Grade K-2) meets every Sunday evening from 6:15pm-7:00pm.

Trinity Adult Choir prepares sacred choral literature in a variety of styles, from all eras. During the choir season, which spans from late September to mid-June, the volunteer choir helps lead worship at the 11:00am service. Weekly rehearsals are held on Sunday 7:15pm-8:30pm. No audition is necessary for adults, but some choral experience is recommended.
Youth are welcome – by audition
Handbell Choir
Denise Seymour, Director
Trinity’s newly formed handbell choir meets for rehearsal on Thursday evenings 7:00pm-8:30pm. The multi-generational ensemble prepares music that is presented periodically throughout the choir season.
